Vacancy for Receptionist/Administrator

We are currently looking for an afternoon receptionist to work Monday – Friday, 13.30 – 19.00.

We are a busy GP surgery looking after 13,000 patients. You will need to be a multi-tasker as reception involves a variety of jobs. We are looking for a dynamic person who loves interaction with people, someone willing to go the extra mile. Alongside answering the telephone and making and booking in patients, you will be liaising with the local hospitals and other healthcare professionals. Working for the NHS does mean that you would be expected to work during national emergencies like the Covid-19 pandemic.

A patient’s first impressions of our surgery are made at reception, therefore a sunny, caring and compassionate nature is essential. If you are a patient of ours, we would ask you to register with another practice due to a conflict of interest.

During the Covid-19 pandemic, our normal working practices have changed and most are unlikely to go back to how they were. You will need to be able to adapt to new working practices, often at short notice. Staff and patients are quite safe here at the surgery. Our doors are currently closed and we are greeting every patient at the door and escorting them to the consulting rooms. We are disinfecting door handles regularly and have a screen up at reception ready for when we open the doors again.
