How To Request An Appointment

You can make an appointment in the following ways:

Changes to the Appointment System

We are changing our appointment system to enable us to manage demand more effectively and safely. GP Surgeries form part of primary care and over the last few years many additional services have been introduced in primary care outside of the GP surgery. Not everyone is aware of these services, how to access them or where they are. Our receptionists have been trained as patient navigators to enable them to assist patients to access these services. Getting you to the right help the first time. This may even save you a visit to the doctor and can fit around your busy schedules.

No one will be left without the care they need and it doesn’t mean you won’t be seen by a doctor.

Our patient navigators will take a short history, necessary for the doctor if he/she calls you down for an appointment. They will suggest the most appropriate service for your condition. This might be the pharmacy, our pharmacist, LIVI,  the website, extended access or Physio First.

If these are inappropriate for your condition/symptoms, they will put you in for a telephone call with your usual GP or the duty doctor. The duty doctor will call you back and if able to deal with over the phone, they will do so. If more complex and they need to see you they will give you an appointment the same day. If they feel they need longer than 10 minutes, they will book a longer appointment.

For those people with long term conditions reliant on a third party for transport, they will offer an advanced booking.

GP Video Consultations

There are many different ways to get a GP appointment these days. Along with a conventional GP appointment at your surgery you can now download an app and speak to a  doctor on a video call at a time to suit you.

You will need a smartphone and some photo ID.

How to access this service:

  • Download the LIVI app
  • Register with LIVI (you will only be able to if you are registered with a North West Surrey Practice
  •  Take a picture of your photo ID so that you are ready when you need to make an appointment

LIVI is now available:

  • Monday – Friday 07:00 – 22:00
  • Saturday & Sunday 09:00 – 17:00

Telephone Advice

For telephone advice please call 01932 220524

Your doctor can be contacted to answer minor queries or give advice. If you feel your problem could be resolved over the telephone, please let reception know so that they can add you to the telephone list.

We appreciate the need for privacy but if you are able to give us an idea about why you are calling our receptionists may be able to chase results, allowing you to be dealt with quicker.

Please ensure you leave a number where we can contact you throughout the day as our doctors may not always be able to call you back until later in the day.

Cancelling Appointments

If you are unable to keep an appointment please let us know as soon as possible – this may enable someone else to be seen.
